Whats a throttle position sensors use on a crf250r 2004?

how does it work, and how could it effect the performance of the bike.

A throttle-position sensor takes care of mixing chores for your carb/injection system. If this fails your bike could have high carbon emissions due to the bad air/fuel mixture or flooding that would cause performance problems.

As you open the throttle, the TPS senses the throttle shaft position and a rheostat sends varying voltage to the computer. The computer uses this information to determine how long to keep the fuel injectors open. If dirty or worn, you can have crappy running one day and good the next. If adjusted wrong, the fuel mix will be too rich or too lean.
