Buying a motorcycle but parents will not let me????

hey. im 17 right now, and i will be 18 in about 3 months. i told them i want a kawasaki ninja 250 or 500. but they say as long as i am living under their roof i cant buy one. i told them the day i turn 18 is the day im going to get a bike, so its either now or then, right now i have about 1200$ whats a good bike i can get for around 2300$? i only work in the summer because i have school otherwise. I am taking a msf course here soon also. how is the insurance on one of these? and also, how owuld i go about convincing my parents into letting me get a motorcycle? they said if i get one, they will sell my truck ( wich i have put alot of $ into it moddifing it.) , wich i do not think is right at all, i should get my money back that i put into it if they do do that. any way, any info would be appreciated.

used honda rebel, good on gas, easy to use, not the kind youd like though, but still a bike, you should also take your parents with you to first few MSF courses, so they can talk with a professional, and discuss the safety aspects.

Try to play up the "gas is too expensive" factor.

Ive been in a motorcycle accident and I never will get on another one ever.

So I see their point of view. They love you. Not everyone has that.
Reply:you dont listen do you????

the important question is.... where are you going to live when you buy the bike....

your parents said not under this roof....

so appartments are worth around the $1000 a month...

dosnt leave much for the bike.....
Reply:As long as you live under your parents' roof you need to honor their rules. So when you figure out how much you need for the bike, insurance, MSF, gear, tax and title, don't forget rent, food and utilities.

  1. If your parents dont allow you to buy
a bike then you shouldn't. As it can
be dangerous and it is very costly too.
