Hotwiring a dirtbike?
Go to your dealer with the frame/engine/VIN number and order a new key.

There are ways to hotwire the bike, but every time you get pulled over by the police you wil be hassled and also it will drain your battery as the power will also be running
Hotwiring a dirtbike?
there should be two wires running to the key all you should have to do is disconnect those and it should start with a kick if it is kick start if it is electric i dont really know
Reply:yeah, such a likely story.

You get a wire about 16 " long, and CRIMP a couple of spring clamps (battery charger or the like, now pull of the side cover, and hook from the FUSE BOX input to the output side of another fuse. Over time, when you have kickstarted it a few dozen times, it actually starts.

Leave your wire connected and replace the side cover, you probaly won't get the headlight this way, so we have ways of KNOWing if your story is true. You could make two of them and attempt to wire around the Ignition switch to the head light, but I'd settle for starting it so I could ride it to the shop and order a key set and the locks and switches I needed. So you know, I tried this back in the late 70s, and it worked with Hondas which had the fuses under the right side cover. pretty darn well.

It may not work on what you got. Those are the breaks!

If it works you will need to take the wire off or it will drain your battery.
Reply:Depends on what kind of dirtbike... there will probably be 4 wires going to the back of the switch... red, brown, black, %26amp; black/white.. clip the black %26amp; black/white ones %26amp; tape the ends to they aren't touching each other.... then connect the red %26amp; brown wires.. if it works, then hook a toggle switch between them..
